Fire Protection Training

Fire Industry Training (FIT) is the training arm of the National Fire Industry Association in Victoria, Australia. It provides training for fire protection equipment technicians who install, test, and maintain fire protection systems.

Working in the trade requires a specialist Plumbing Industry Commission license. There is currently a skill shortage of licensed technicians and demand will continue in the future because the trade is closely linked to the building industry. FIT has expanded its training scope to include Certificate III in Fire Protection, which attends to these industry requirements. Some of these training units will be used by plumbing apprentices. FIT required the course content of Certificate III in Fire Protection to be moved onto an online platform (Learning Management System (LMS)). This enabled students and trainers to interact with course content in a meaningful and flexible way.

PulseLearning worked with the FIT team to effectively transfer all 37 learning units of competency for award of this qualification to an online platform. PulseLearning also provided a custom Moodle LMS installation to help meet the technical requirements of the qualification including assessments and tracking of elective learning units.
